Ambulatory Care

About Our Ambulatory Care Department

Our Ambulatory Care Department, also known as outpatient care, is medical care or treatment that does not require an overnight stay in the hospital.

Our outpatient procedures and treatments include Diabetes Education, Physiotherapy, Respiratory Services, Speech Language and Specialty Clinics.

Ambulatory Care Services

Diabetes Education

Groves Memorial Community Hospital offers a wide range of services for adult patients that have Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational diabetes.

Through this education program, patients learn about diabetes and what steps they can take to stay healthy (diet, exercise/activity and medication options).

The Diabetes Education Centre supports inpatients as well as outpatients. If you have been recently diagnosed or have had diabetes for a long time and you would like to receive further education, please ask your family physician to send a referral to us with recent lab work and any medications that you are currently taking. If you don’t have a family physician, you can make a self-referral (see referral form below).

A number of diagnostic tests are performed on an outpatient basis to diagnose and monitor the respiratory status of patients.
