About Our Oncology Department

Groves Memorial Community Hospital Oncology Clinic - Fergus

Operating as a satellite site for the Grand River Regional Cancer Clinic (GRRCC), the Fergus site provides systemic therapy (chemotherapy/biotherapy) and supportive treatments for patients living in Wellington and Grey Counties.  This allows some patients to receive their cancer treatment closer to home.  Patients are initially assessed at GRRCC and then referred back to the Fegus site.

We're Here To Care

We're Here To Care

We have a team of dedicated and specially trained physicians, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who work closely with the Grand River Regional Cancer Clinic to provide the appropriate treatments for our patients.  We also have lab technicians, a registered dietitian, diabetic education and social work available.  We are here to help:

  • Eliminate the anxiety of receiving treatment in an unfamiliar setting

  • Reduce the time and expense of travel

  • Providing the chance to develop close relationships and a support system with local residents

GRRCC train our nursing, pharmacy, housekeeping, maintenance, and receiving department staff annually how to receive chemotherapy agents, how to clean up chemotherapy spills, and how to dispose of chemotherapy agents.
